If you are on the net reading most of you probably seen this or this may be new news but Katy Perry's taped performance for "Sesame Street," which was released to YouTube earlier this week and drew complaints from parents due to the pop star's controversial attire, will no longer air on the children's show, creator Sesame Workshop said Thursday morning (Sept. 23).
If you are on the net reading most of you probably seen this or this may be new news but Katy Perry's taped performance for "Sesame Street," which was released to YouTube earlier this week and drew complaints from parents due to the pop star's controversial attire, will no longer air on the children's show, creator Sesame Workshop said Thursday morning (Sept. 23).
The
clip was slated to run during "Sesame Street's" upcoming season but has
now been pulled due to protests from parents who found Perry's outfit
to be too provocative. "We use parodies and celebrity segments to
interest adults in the show...We also value our viewer's opinions and
particularly those of parents," Sesame Workshop said in a statement.
"In light of the feedback we've received on the Katy Perry music video
which was released on YouTube only, we have decided we will not air the
segment on the television broadcast of 'Sesame Street,' which is aimed
at preschoolers.
Personally the dress wasn't all that bad but I understand them nipping it in the bud before someone really takes it there!
