Set several decades after the first Independence Day, the nations of the world have worked together and using alien technology from the destroyed ships of the first movie they have created technology to better safe guard and defend against humanity should the aliens return to take the planet Earth. Will Smith's character Captain Steven Hiller died test piloting an experimental human/alien hybrid war plane. But when the aliens do come back with better technology and bigger attack ships will humanity be able to fight off this attack? See more in the movie Independence Day Resurgence movie.

Cast: Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Vivica A. Fox, Brent Spiner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe, Sela Ward. Will Smith will not be reprising his role as Captain Steve Hiller. It is noted on the Independence Day website after the War of 1996, Captain Hiller died test piloting an experimental human and alien hybrid war plane.
