Yes I was like dayum Viacom is taking over "EVERYTHING" in this industry that is one hell of a move to lock down the fastest growing artists outlet in the country! To the artists, music lovers and industry insiders that make up the OurStage community,

Since the inception of OurStage the founders have aspired to change the landscape of the music industry by finding a way to discover tomorrow’s stars. With your help we have been hugely successful at ranking the quality of talent within our arsenal of artists. With the help of our partners we have been fortunate enough to provide some of our most promising artists career enhancing opportunities. Now it’s time to raise the bar even higher.

We want to break artists regionally, nationally and internationally. In order to achieve this goal we are thrilled to announce our partnership with the MTV Networks. The sheer power of MTV's many screens from TV to web to mobile to gaming will allow for many more opportunities for OurStage artists. In the months to follow we will announce promotions that will put our artists in front of massive audiences.

To kick off this relationship MTV Music and OurStage will be selecting one artist each week for a collaborate feature called "Needle in the Haystack". NITH will shower each lucky artist with Internet love, making them an "artist to watch". Since February 1st you can discover the featured talent through downloads and interviews shared on mtvmusic.com and ourstage.com.

Since its premiere in 1981 MTV has had a profound impact on both the music industry and popular culture at large. This partnership heralds a shared vision to truly break the stars of tomorrow. It is a commitment that we look forward to making a reality. Now all we need is you.

I tried not to watch this video because how emotional I knew it would make me I am raising my nephews and my oldest is the same exact age as "Derrion" (All I could Think Of Is What If This Was My Nephew?)It hurts my heart to see how immune these kids are and how they can easily kill one another. I was almost a victim of hate crimes like this when I was younger and watched my homeboy get his head shot-off at the age of 14. As I write this I'm fighting my emotions because our children have become almost immune to death. (That's Serious)

The reason for this is there are no longer programs that cater to our youth no longer men that will volunteer to be big brothers or alders in our communities. This list goes on... We have to stop ignoring these acts of violence as well as our kids and get more concerned and active in their lives. The one thing we do is just complain sit back and blame but when you point the finger there is four pointed back at You!

Let us NOT forget crazy events like this but use them as a catapult to act against these crimes and get PRO-ACTIVE instead of just mouthy!

WHY DO THE PRESS HOP ALL OVER ANYTHING NEGATIVE THE URBAN CULTURE DOES BUT NEVER PAY ATTENTION TO THE GOOD THINGS THAT THE COMMUNITY GROUPS DO! THEY FIGHT AGAINST VIOLENCE EVERYDAY BUT CAN'T GET AID! (WDF) WHILE ANOTHER MAJOR EPIDEMIC IS BEING IGNORED AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESS LIKE WHY CAN'T WE CAN'T GET AID THE HOMELESS? YET WE CARE MORE ABOUT THE LYRICS TO A RAP SONG THEN THE MUTILATION OF A HUMAN BEING ON A MOVIE SCREEN OR VIDEO GAME (IT'S GENIUS THEN RIGHT?) YOU ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS LET'S STOP THE DIVIDING LINES AND CREATE THE SOLUTION INSTEAD OF DISCUSSING THE OBVIOUS!
