Howard Shore Announced as Maestro Award Recipient : Academy and Grammy Award Winning Composer to be honored

Shore, who will participate in a Q&A at the conference, has an impressive slate of films this year, among them the final installment in The Hobbit trilogy (The Battle of Five Armies) and the directorial debut of Jon Stewart in Rosewater. One of the creators of Saturday Night Live, he was the show's music director from 1975 to 1980. At the same time, he began collaborating with David Cronenberg and has scored 15 of the director's films, most recently Maps to the Stars.
