Save your bucks! Movies not see!

On my last movie blog post I broke down what movies we suggest you check out playing in theaters. Well now it's time for me to talk about the movie you may want to save your bucks on seeing or at least wait for OnDemand, Redbox DVD or other streaming options.

First movie is Get Out. The premise of this movie is about an interracial couple, Chris and his girlfriend Rose. She invites him to meet her parents on a weekend trip upstate. At first, Chris reads the family's overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter's interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he never could have imagined. This movie is directed by Jordan Peele whom may know from Comedy Central's Key and Peele. I live in Hampton, VA where it's located close to Williamsburg and during a time where we have Donald Trump as President. We question if this movie is needed and necessary during this time where racism is at it's worst in society in a post Barack Obama presidency world. While some rate Get Out as a movie that "masterfully combines incisive social commentary with genuine, seat-edge suspense in film exploring evils of American suburbia" quoting Benjamin Lee from the Guardian. I have to disagree so on this movie if you disagree with my opinion then I would suggest waiting for this movie to come to Netflix or online streaming.

Like with a lot of movies, some of them were based off of books before becoming blockbuster movies such as Jurassic Park, The Allegiant movies, The Hunger Games, and Twilight to name a few. Most men know from the women they have dated and been friends with that the 50 Shades series is beloved by women for it's taboo S&M sex and romance storylines. Following the previous movie, 50 Shades Darker is about a wounded Christian Grey who tries to entice a cautious Ana Steele back into his life, she demands a new arrangement before she will give him another chance. As the two begin to build trust and find stability, shadowy figures from Christian's past start to circle the couple, determined to destroy their hopes for a future together. Fellas, we are in a relation so in between that we are good on this movie. Ladies, feel free to go see it but we have our own relationships and real lifes to worry about. If you want S&M and 50 Shades in the bedroom well then we can get some furry handcuffs, masquerade masks, some sensual oils, condoms, lube, whip cream, flavored oral gels, paddles and other stuff from the adult novelty store or websites and make it happen. So, it's definitely a pass on this movie.

I have to ask one question, "REALLY?!" like the Black chick in Kevin Hart's comedy sketch...first we had Tom Cruise in the Last Samurai. He's White?! Now, it's the Great Wall starring Matt Damon?! Trailers of this movie was first shown at San Diego Comicon. This movie is definitely froth with over the top CG but Chinese film director Zhang Yimou making his first American film debut with this movie. Matt Damon starring with several Chinese actors could have been a recipe for a great movie but unfortunately this was not to be. The Great Wall is a monster film about a European mercenary in China during the Song dynasty. He encounters the Great Wall of China and meets Chinese soldiers who defend against monsters. A lot of made in China and Japanese cinema have one up on this movie. This movie I would recommend for it to come to Redbox as well. So my opinion on these movies is I would not tell you not to go see it but really you can save your bucks on these three movies and probably just wait for the BluRay, DVD or the stream but to pay an upwards of $20 per ticket I wouldn't recommend.
